These days keeping your smartphone charged while you are in Disney is VERY important. Your My Disney Experience app allows you to look up wait times, make changes to your fast pass and dining reservations and more! There are places to charge your phone in the parks, but waiting in one place for it to charge can throw a wrench in your schedule for sure. Another option is to purchase a portable charger to bring with you. However, that is one more thing that you have to charge each night and let's be honest, you will likely have enough to be charging. There are only so many easily accessible outlets in the rooms. I have purchased chargers that could do our multiple devices at once, but they were heavy and they never seem to work as expected for very long.
Good news! The folks at Fuel Rod have found an awesome solution! Fuel Rod is a portable charger that you purchase on their website or a select locations. Once you purchase one, you get unlimited swaps for a freshly charged one for FREE! This means that you just have one small charger to carry around, and when the charge is used up, you simply find a swap location and trade it in. They have mini vending machines across the country where you can purchase a small portable charger. Most of these vending machines can be found at select airports and you can search on their website http://www.fuel-rod.com. Unfortunately the locations in Walt Disney World are not listed on their website. But don't worry, I will list them for you below. They seem to be adding new ones, so it never hurts to ask when you are there. The cost at most locations is $20 and you can sometimes search the internet for a $2 off code to put in. Within Disney World, the cost is $30 but if you happen to be at an airport or other location before your trip, you can pick one up at the lower price. They can also be ordered on the website.
Here are the trade in locations below. I have posted a couple of picture of what the kiosks look like. The ones inside Disney World look very different as they are made to fit the theme of where they are located.
