My family are self-identified foodies. We love to try new foods and flavors. To be sure, we went through our macaroni and cheese/chicken nugget phases. But, my girls are older now and they love Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican and sushi. Food & Wine Festival has been a multi-day affair for us for years so we can try as many dishes as possible. That being said, we still appreciate some basics. Here's our list of favorite Quick Service restaurants at Walt Disney World!
1. Wolfgang Puck Express at Disney Springs
This restaurant has been around awhile, since Disney Springs was Downtown Disney. What we love here is that you don't feel like you're at a fast food location. You order at a register, but your food is delivered to your table. Everything tastes great here: the wood-fired pizzas and the salads (especially the beet salad) top our list. We order a variety and share. With all the new places at Disney Springs, you have a lot of choices, but you can't go wrong at Wolfgang Puck Express!!
2. Harambe Market in Animal Kingdom.
This new dining location opened about a year ago and has been a wonderful addition to the park. Tucked away to the right hand side of Kilimanjaro Safari, this open air marketplace has quite a good variety. My favorites are the Veggie Stack: portobello mushroom, tofu and arugula and the chicken skewer. Really, it's all good! They even serve some specialty beverages that you will also find at Club Cool.
3. Columbia Harbor House in Magic Kingdom, Liberty Square
When you need a break from the park, I highly recommend this peaceful dining location. My favorite dish is the chicken pot pie with steamed broccoli. I like to take my food upstairs where there are tables overlooking the hustle and bustle on the walkways below.
4. Casey's Corner in Magic Kingdom, Main Street USA
For the complete opposite experience (we are multi-faceted, what can I say?) we enjoy a hot dog, fries and a drink at Casey's. They have a nice topping bar and you can find a table outside with a view of Cinderella Castle. Doesn't get any better than that!
5. Les Halles in EPCOT, France
Here's a super-secret tip from me to you. Are you listening? If you stay at any EPCOT are resort (Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk), you can enter EPCOT at opening time, typically 9:00 a.m. and visit Les Halles for breakfast. Let me tell you, it's quite a treat. The park is quiet and peaceful and Les Halles offers delicious pastries, plus quiche, croque monsieur, croissants and espresso. A delicious meal in lovely surroundings! It's also fun to stop by in the afternoon for a snack or before Illuminations. Basically, any time is a good time for French pastry!!
6. Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT, The Land Pavilion
This location seems a bit chaotic at first. You have several different windows serving a variety of food. But, it's worth it! One window serves Asian cuisine, another serves up roasted salmon, grilled chicken and another has a variety of sandwiches and wraps. All of it is fresh and a lot of the produce is even grown on site! Plus, the desserts here are actually pretty good. My favorite is the strawberry shortcake.
So, there you have it! Our years of dining experience. There are many other good dining locations, but these are our personal favorites.
