Sail away on the brand new Disney Wish! Part 2

The owners of Coasters and Castles Travel Lynne Macolini and April Botta were able to be on board for one of the first sailings of the brand new Disney Cruise ship the Disney Wish! Read the final post of their series on their experience on this beautiful new ship!

We sailed on an Inaugural Sailing of the Disney Wish- Our Stateroom Details:

We stayed in the Deluxe Family Oceanview Verandah stateroom. The room is able to sleep 5 people. There is a queen size bed (note, on Disney Cruise Line, the beds do not split into twin beds), pull down bunk bed, a couch that converts to a bed, and a twin Murphy bed.

April stayed on the Queen size bed and I stayed on the Twin Murphy bed. For the most part it was comfortable. The sides have a raised wooden piece that is there to hold the mattress and that was a little uncomfortable when sitting down and getting up. The rest was fine. I have a bad back and so many cruise line beds make me feel like my back is broken in the AM but that was not the case with this bed. This bed would be perfectly fine for an adult as well as any child. It is located (at least in our stateroom and the other one we toured) next to the door to the Verandah.

There was a nice narrow & tall cabinet with shelves next to the Murphy bed and USB ports in that wall to charge your phone. The refrigerator was a drawer and was ample enough to put in some drinks and some other items.

As with the other cruise ships, our stateroom (most except for inside staterooms) had the split bath. There is a shower/ tub combo, sink & shelves in one bath and the toilet, sink, & shelves in the other. The closets at the opening of the stateroom had 3 sections. On either side was two places to hang clothes and the middle had the shelves and the safe. Above both each of these sections was a shelf with the life jackets.

The stateroom was very roomy and would be sufficient for 2-5 people. If it was more than 2 adults, it would be a little tight but doable.

Each stateroom features artwork and touches based on celebrated animated films and characters. There are Cinderella, Frozen, Sleeping Beauty, Princess and the Frog, Moana, Little Mermaid and Tangled themed staterooms and suites.

Pro Tip:

Get heavy duty magnet hooks. I like the Neosmuk Magnetic Hooks that I ordered from Amazon. Note, I do not receive any compensation for this recommendation. These are nice as you can use them to hold your tickets to excursions, or even to hang wet clothes that you are trying to dry.

Thanks again Lynne and April for sharing your experience with us!
