Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Arts

So today I thought I would actually take a turn at writing about my experience. I am Cheryl Copeland Lewis and I love to travel. I was lucky enough to be staying at the Boardwalk Villas this week so I took a quick boat trip to Epcot. It was a bit cool in the 60s so wandering around was very comfortable.

Entering from the Epcot resorts entrance put me right in the United Kingdom with so many beautiful areas to wander and see some great parts of the Art Festival.

From the United Kingdom you can wander into the World Showplace Events Pavilion and see more artists and food selections such as Remy‘s Ratatouille or Prime Steak Tartare while topping it off with a Blue Sky Black Cherry Boba Freeze or a Frozen Rusty Nail Cocktail.

Of course Canada showcases numerous artists and some Wild Mushroom Risotto and a Vanilla, Rose Water, and Pistachio Panna Cotta. Refreshment Port has added Festival delights as well sporting a Lobster Poutine (oh my) and across the way you will find a great Orange Cream Shake (in an Orange Bird Sipper Cup).

One of my favorites is the Deconstructed Dish stand with a Rueben or BLT on the menu. As you cross the main Showcase Plaza you will find Decadent Delights and Pop Eats!

Now as we head towards Mexico one of my favorite artists (David Doss) has his art display as well as signing them (and yes my grandson is getting a personally autographed piece for his birthday this year). THEN we are at the El Artista Hambriento with Chile Relleno or even Taco de Chocolate (for our chocolate lovers).

After all the snacks I ate I was able to sneak right on to Frozen in Norway and have a quiet visit with Ana and Elsa. But then it was time for my “Panda” Bubble Tea in China and I was told to get the warm brown sugar-stuffed Pretzel at the Refreshment Outpost. The gentleman that suggested was on target and was it GOOD!!!

Rounding the corner I found myself inn Germany for its Red Wine-braised Short Rib or should I have Coq au Vin. MANY choices and so tough with such great smells and sights to work with.

Now one of my favorites is in Italy with a Lobster Ravioli with Vanilla-Saffron Cream Sauce and Shredded Chili Peppers and, of course a glass of Moscato. Now as I apprached America I was having a dilemma because they presented me with Beef Wellington or a Pan-seared scallop (I pick scallop every time). And although Japan was offering a tempting Sushi Donut I was just about at my maximum.

I did head into France and found the walkway to Ratatouille open. A little stroll found more walls but we are getting closer to opening another adventure in Epcot.

Ultimately I was rounding the corner on two last countries which served a Meditteran Flatbread or Lamb in Morocco or a Creme de Brie en Petit Pain in France. I couldn’t do it and ultimately sacrificed these two stops with the hope I get back here before the festival ends to snack on these last delights.

Now this is an Art Festival and I was delighted to see an animation demonstration in the American Pavillion and what would Epcot be without a visit with Mickey and Minnie cruising the area in their stylish vehicle.

To wrap up my day I took a leisurely boat across the lagoon and then the next Friendship boat to Boardwalk Villas again.
