Halloween Happenings

Walt Disney World.

  • From September 15 – October 31, the Magic Kingdom Park will feature special Halloween character cavalcades on the parade route throughout the day. You may encounter the Disney Villains, Mickey Mouse and his pals, or even the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington! Park Reservations are required.

  • Beginning September 20, the Dapper Dans will be performing as their undead alter egos, The Cadaver Dans.

  • To bring some Halloween party fun into the park this year, for the first time guests of all ages can wear their funniest, Disney-ist, most creative costumes during Magic Kingdom regular operating hours from Sept. 15 to Oct. 31. As an important reminder, costume masks are not permitted for adults; only children younger than 14 years old are permitted to wear costume masks. In addition, all guests are required to wear approved face coverings during their visit.

  • The Halloween spirit is also in the air over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where Minnie’s Halloween Dine is set to return to Hollywood & Vine, beginning September 25. A monster feast will be served to Guests' tables, and favorite Disney friends will make special appearances in the restaurant. Guests can wave and snap photos of Minnie Mouse dressed as a happy witch. Goofy is coming as a spooky cowboy, with Mickey Mouse as a funny vampire, and his best pal, Pluto, gets into the act wearing a cute Halloween collar.

Universal Orlando Resort


  • Universal Studios Florida is testing a new experience. September 19 and 20 will feature two special haunted houses during regular park hours: Revenge of the Tooth Fairy and Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein Lives. These are included with your regular park admission. The Virtual Line™ experience is available for the haunted houses. When you're on property, use The Official Universal Orlando Resort app to select a return time for your group.

  • The Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store is open in Universal Studios Florida during regular park hours with some special treats.

  • The Skeleton-Bar at Cafe LaBamba in Universal Studios Florida will be open from September 18th- October 31st!!! It will feature specialty food and cocktails.

  • Guests 12 and under can Trick or Treat in Universal’s Islands of Adventure by stopping by participating retail locations marked with pumpkin signage!!! One trick-or-treat bag per guest and one fill per participating location.

  • Wear your family friendly costumes in both parks on September 19th and 20th. Facial coverings are still required. No costume masks, face painting (from outside the parks), or hoods allowed. Review costume guidelines at www.universalorlando.com prior to visiting.

SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Spooktacular begins September 19, 2020, and it will run through November 1, 2020. On Saturdays and Sundays, guests may Trick or Treat around the park. Park Reservations are required.

  • Everyone is encouraged to wear family friendly costumes. Guests who are ages 13 and older may not wear costume masks or hoods, and all costumes are subject to the normal dress code. Review website for costume guidelines at www.seaworld.com.

  • To add to your visit, you can purchase tickets to attend Count von Count's Spooktacular Breakfast features a delicious meal enjoyed with the furriest friends in town.   • Flicks & Frights Drive-In Movie. It’s the perfect season for a spooky movie under the stars at SeaWorld. Drive in for a nostalgic experience that starts with enjoying locally sourced food trucks and ends with watching a classic Halloween feature (or two, if you dare!) from the comfort and safety of your car. Saturdays, Sept. 19 - Oct. 31 and Friday, Oct. 23 & 30. Separate admission is required.

Busch Gardens Tampa

Howl-O-Scream event begins September 25th and will run weekends through November 1st. The event will be modified from prior years to ensure safety of their guests. It is a separately ticketed event, and reservations are required due to limited capacity. Mature audiences are recommended.




Schedule Changes and Travel Suspensions

Adventures by Disney has suspended their tours until November 30, 2020. They have also extended the final payment date for an extra 30 days for trips booked from December 1, 2020 through February 28, 2021 to be due 90 days prior to the vacation.

Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa is currently closed and a reopening date has not been identified.


Disney Cruise Line has now suspended sailings into December.

  • Sailings on the Disney Fantasy are suspended through December 6, 2020.

  • Sailings on the Disney Dream and Wonder are suspended through December 11, 2020.

  • Sailings on the Disney Magic are suspended through December 12, 2020.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will remain closed at this time, pending state and local government approvals. Walt Disney World currently plans to reopen one of the two Disney water parks on March 7, 2021. This date is subject to change.

  • They will automatically extend unused, unexpired 1-Day Disney Water Park tickets through Dec. 31, 2021. As an alternative, Guests may instead choose to cancel their ticket. To discuss the options, please call the Disney Reservation Center. Also, if guests are unable to visit by Dec. 31, 2021, they may apply the value of a wholly unused ticket toward the purchase of a ticket for a future date.

  • Water Parks and Water Parks After 2 annual passes will be automatically extended for the period in which both water parks were closed. As an alternative, water park Passholders may instead choose to cancel their pass.

Disneyland® Resort has begun a phased reopening of the Downtown Disney District. The Hotels of the Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure® Park remain closed and will reopen at a later date, pending state and local government approvals.


Guests may be receiving email communication from Disney if they have a Disneyland Resort hotel reservation between now and Oct. 3, 2020, letting them know they may modify or cancel their Disneyland Resort hotel reservations or Walt Disney Travel Company packages. Ask your travel advisor for more information.


Universal’s Volcano Bay has made a seasonal adjustment to their schedule. They will not open on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the current time.
